Nowadays, our daily life is full of advertisements, and it is inevitable for us to choose what to eat with consideration of advertisements. Then, some people believe that it is advertising that is the main cause of unhealthy eating habits. However, as far as I am concerned, other factors such as work load and price of choosing healthy food are more important causes of unhealthy eating habits.
First of all, some people are so busy that they have little time to eat; some other people just take work priority to meals, and they would not like to eat until they finish their work. Take auditors as an example. During working over time, even over night is quite common, and auditors concern more about keeping energy rather than eating healthily. Advertisements may even not in their concerns. Also, price of healthy food is a more important attribute than advertisements. People may be aware of healthy food, but they just cannot afford it. For example, in the supermarket, the organic food is usually as twice expensive as or even twice more expensive than ordinary food. Unless someone is indifferent to price, usually people will choose food match with their income. Similarly, you will see that people may choose to eat Chinese food, healthier, with more nutrition but more expensive once a month or even less frequently, while they may eat junk food, like fried chicken every day.
